The results of the HSC and equivalent examinations have been published. This year, the average pass rate across 11 education boards, including nine general education boards and the madrasa and technical education boards, is 52.12 percent. The pass rate has decreased compared to the previous year.
Notably, the average pass rate was 58.83 percent last year, in 2025. Accordingly, the pass rate has decreased by 6.71 percentage points this year.
The results were published at around 11 am on Saturday (October 31). Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon announced the simultaneous publication of results across the country at an event held in the conference room of the Secondary and Higher Education Division at the Secretariat. A summary of the results was also presented there.
Results available through three methods
Students, guardians and teachers will be able to know the HSC and equivalent examination results through three methods. First, the results will be available on the official website of the education board under which the candidates took part in the examinations.
Second, the results can also be accessed through two websites provided by the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. These are eduboardresult.gov.bd and educationboardresults.gov.bd. No results will be available directly at education boards, the Ministry of Education or newspaper offices.
Besides, results can also be obtained from home by sending an SMS from a mobile phone. In that case, users have to go to the message option on their mobile phones, type HSC in English followed by a space, and then enter the first three letters of the education board's name, roll number and examination year. The SMS must be sent to 16140. For example, type ‘HSC DHA 123456 2026’ and send it to 16140.
This year's HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2 and ended on August 8. However, due to floods, the written examinations of several subjects under the Chattogram Board could not be held at the scheduled time. Later, the postponed examinations were held, and the written examinations under that board ended on September 9.
This year, 1,270,583 students from 9,439 educational institutions took part in the HSC and equivalent examinations under 11 education boards across the country. However, more than 20,000 students were absent from the examinations.
