Gold jewellery prices have been increased in the domestic market. The price of the best-quality or 22-carat gold jewellery per bhori (11.664 grams) has been increased by Tk 3,324.
As a result, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery has been set at Tk 224,182, including VAT.
The price has been increased due to a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market. The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said the new price came into effect at 1:45 pm on Wednesday (November 4).
The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring decided to increase the price at a meeting on Wednesday. Later, the information was announced in a notice signed by the committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.
Although gold prices have been increased, silver prices remain unchanged.
Earlier, on November 2, the price of the best-quality or 22-carat gold jewellery per bhori (11.664 grams) was increased by Tk 3,266.
