BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is going on a visit to his home district Bogura today. After nearly two decades, he is also expected to visit his ancestral home in Bagbari of Gabtoli.

After taking charge as Prime Minister following a landslide victory in the 13th National Parliament election, this is his first visit to his home district.

During the day-long visit, the BNP Chairman will inaugurate various development activities and attend a public rally. Ahead of his arrival, roads and different infrastructures in the city have already been cleaned. A festive atmosphere has spread across the city. A large stage has been constructed at the historic Altafunnesa playground in the city.

His beloved people of the ancestral home are also not idle. The residents of Gabtoli are ready to welcome their son, Prime MinisterTarique Rahman, the eldest son of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former leader Begum Khaleda Zia. Extensive preparations have been taken in Bagbari. Zia Bari has been decorated. Roads have been repaired.

Editor of Daily Karatoa, Mozammel Haque Lalu, said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is a son of our home, and his return is a great joy for us. This is his first visit to Bogura as Prime Minister. His visit is very important to fulfill many of our expectations.

According to the schedule received from the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will leave his residence in Gulshan in the capital by road at 6:00 am today. He is expected to reach Bogura Circuit House at 10:30 am.

Then at 11:00 am, he will unveil the plaque of the newly constructed building of the Bogura District Bar Association and inaugurate the e-bail bond activities.

At 11:30 am, the Prime Minister will unveil the plaque of the newly formed Bogura City Corporation at the Bogura municipal building.

At 12:45 pm, he will inaugurate the emergency measles-rubella vaccination campaign 2026 at Ziaur Rahman village hospital in Bagbari of Gabtoli upazila. Then at 1:30 pm, he will attend the family card distribution program at Shaheed Zia Degree College ground.

At 1:45 pm, he will inaugurate the excavation work of Choukirdah canal in the Bagbari Nashipur area. At 2:30 pm, he will visit the ancestral house of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

At 3:30 pm, after a short break at Bogura Circuit House, he will attend a public rally organized by district BNP at Altafunnesa playground at 4:00 pm.

He is also expected to inaugurate the new building of Bogura Press Club at 5:45 pm and the reconstruction work of Bogura Baitur Rahman Central Mosque at 5:50 pm.

The Prime Minister is expected to leave for Dhaka by road at 6:00 pm.
